Nikola Tsolov is moving up to Formula 2 in 2026. The Bulgarian driver will once again be part of Campos Racing – the team with which he became the vice-champion in Formula 3 this season and champion in the Spanish Formula 4 a few years ago.

Campos Racing has announced its first driver for the 2026 season in Formula 2. The Spanish team will once again rely on Bulgarian racer Nikola Tsolov.

The 18-year-old driver is stepping up to F2 after a brilliant career in Formula 3. Tsolov spent a total of three seasons in the supporting championship and won a total of five races – more than any other participant in the history of the championship.

Two of those victories were with Campos Racing during the 2025 season.

First, he won the sprint in Bahrain, followed by the main race in Monaco. He added four more podiums throughout the past season. In the end, Nikola Tsolov finished in second place in the drivers’ championship.

The partnership between Nikola Tsolov and Campos proved successful as early as 2022.

Then the Bulgarian became the champion in the Spanish Formula 4, recording 13 wins in a total of 21 races.

Now Nikola Tsolov is ready to move up to Formula 2 next season and is extremely happy to do so with Campos Racing. The Bulgarian also remains part of the Red Bull young driver program.

“I am extremely happy to take the next step in my career and move up to Formula 2 again with Campos Racing,” said Nikola Tsolov.

“We worked very hard together and achieved success both in the Spanish Formula 4 and…” and in FIA Formula 3. This gives me great confidence for the upcoming season. This is another step closer to my dream. I will strive harder than ever to achieve strong results,“ added the Bulgarian lion.

„We are extremely proud to continue working with Nikola for another year. He is one of our talents, having taken his first steps in single-seaters with Campos Racing,“ said Adrian Campos.

„In the two seasons he has raced with us, he has been champion and vice-champion, which is clear evidence of his exceptional talent. The Formula 2 car, of course, is on another level. Despite his youth, he already has extensive experience in single-seaters and shows great maturity. Therefore, we are confident that he will stand out in Formula 2,“ added the director of Campos Racing.

It is still unknown who will be the teammate of Nikola Tsolov for the 2026 season in Formula 2. The upcoming campaign includes a total of 14 rounds and starts in Australia. Before that, there will be several tests.
